The

Footwear Technologist

sits as a member of the Global Sourcing team, ensuring our footwear products are fit for purpose in terms of fit, comfort and durability. Your role will be to manage the fitting and grading process during commercialisation and bulk production, working within our Go-to-Market critical path framework. You will be working closely with the Product Developers, Sourcing Management team, offshore T1 suppliers, influencing accordingly to ensure the appropriate fit for bulk production. You'll be the go-to person who will ensure all pattern related queries are answered and maintain the Dr. Martens pattern library. As our

, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the creation, amendment and grading of new patterns at the T1 suppliers, ensuring adherence to DM Design & Development principles of fitting.
  • Coordinating the foot fitting of all new DM footwear products, calling fit samples across key sizes, do the manual fitting, document and report the results and problem solve any issues that arise prior or during bulk tooling (T3-T4).
  • Maintaining the Dr. Martens pattern library, ensuring all patterns of our continuous and new products are checked and filed accurately, containing all relevant information and documentation, and is up-to-date and in the correct place.
  • Controlling the use and exchange of patterns between DM and the T1 suppliers ensuring consistency across the supply base and adherence to the DM icon base patterns.

  • You'll be a Technologist, ideally with experience working in the footwear industry & with an understanding of the manufacturing process.
  • Experience with CAD CAM system and pattern cutting.
  • This is a fast-paced role working to tight deadlines, so you'll be comfortable working at pace and maintaining accuracy in your work.
