STATUTORY ACCOUNTANT - 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

Location: London

What you'll do:
As a Statutory Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract, you will play an integral role within our client's finance team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in preparing statutory financial statements in line with IFRS. You will ensure compliance with all relevant statutory reporting requirements, tax regulations, and accounting standards. Your role will also involve performing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving any queries. Additionally, you will support the accounts payable function by processing payments and reviewing related journal entries in the accounting system.

  • Assist in preparing statutory financial statements in compliance with IFRS
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, tax regulations, and accounting standards
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, including general ledger reconciliations and accruals
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary documentation and resolving any queries
  • Support the accounts payable function including processing payments, review of the related journal entries in the accounting system
  • Produce/review monthly balance sheet and income statement GL code reconciliations
  • Assist with implementation of any new accounting standards
  • Provide ad hoc reporting as and when required
  • Review daily product control reports
  • Assist with the implementation of any new systems

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Statutory Accountant role will bring a meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills. You will have proven experience in producing detailed analysis and interrogating systems. Your problem-solving skills will be logical and methodical, and you will have strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial ledger systems. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to interact effectively at all levels within the organisation. A proactive approach to responding to information requests from management is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a small team environment. Exposure to IFRS would be advantageous.

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial ledger systems
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels within an organisation
  • Proactive response to information requests from Management
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment
  • Exposure to IFRS
