Clinical Psychologist - Neurodevelopmental Pathway Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin £31 per hour CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) 3 month contract
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to provide Clinical Leadership for our Neurodevelopmental Pathway. This vital role involves delivering comprehensive assessment and diagnostic support for children and young people across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our CAMHS services and making a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Neurodevelopmental Pathway, ensuring high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and support services for children and young people.
  • Conduct and interpret detailed assessments, including ADOS and ADI, leading to informed diagnostic procedures and the development of tailored intervention plans.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to the multidisciplinary team (MDT), helping them understand neurodiversity and assess the need for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnoses.
  • Offer supervision, support, and leadership to team members, ensuring the consistent application of best practices in assessment and intervention.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation on psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and other carers, enhancing the overall quality of care within CAMHS.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of CAMHS services, particularly in the area of neurodiversity, ensuring alignment with professional guidelines and trust policies.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Significant experience in conducting neurodevelopmental assessments and working with children and young people within CAMHS or similar settings.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and support a multidisciplinary team. Expertise in ASD and ADHD diagnostic procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of neurodiversity and the psychological care of children and young people.
