Lead .NET Developer

A forward-thinking educational tech company have a brand new opening for a Lead Full-stack .NET Developer to guide the way for a small .NET development team who are responsible for building scalable microservice based systems.

This is a hybrid role where the expectation is spend a few days per week in office. The days are flexible to you.

The story so far

The Software development team have developed a powerful backend platform that comprises a suite of .NET API RESTful services, a hosted MongoDB database with an Angular front end. They are leveraging a containerised microservices architecture and are always looking to continuously improve the products.

The role

  • As this is a Lead role, you'll get to play a part in gathering requirements, defining spec's and planning whilst keeping security standards and operational performance considered.
  • You'll work closely with the Product team, the Lead QA Engineer and their team to drive change and create the best solutions possible. You'll be a source of knowledge for your development team, coaching and guiding where necessary.
  • You'll lead a small team of four .NET Software Developers and it's important that you haven't completely stepped away from hands on coding yourself as they'll still be opportunities to get involved and roll your sleeves up and "show them how it's done"

Your day to day :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate the design of backend services.
  • Ensure seamless integration of services within the SaaS platform.
  • Promote the platform to a full production release.
  • Leading from the front you'll deploy services to a fully hosted cloud environment using the .NET stack.
  • Mentor, coach and guide your team members

Skills you'll bring:

  • Senior or Lead experience, you could be a Senior who is ready for that next step or perhaps already a Lead who is looking for a new challenge.
  • Proficiency in .NET technologies, including C# and ASP.NET Core.
  • Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with Angular or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Cloud deployment experience
  • Passion for clean code, scalability, and performance optimisation.
