HR Assistant or HR Advisor

My market leading, St Helens based client are looking to recruit an experienced HR Assistant or HR Advisor to support the business on a temporary basis for approximately 4-6 months, the assignment could then get extended or go permanent for the successful candidate.

  • £25k - £28k (HR Assistant)
  • £28k - £30k (HR Advisor)
  • 37.5 hours per week, 08:30 - 17:00 Monday to Friday
  • Once fully inducted Hybrid working will be available, 3 days per week from office (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and 2 days per week from home (Monday & Friday).

The purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive and best practice HR service to the business. Acquire, maintain, and develop employees to ensure that the company has the required skills and competencies to achieve its objectives.

Main Accountabilities

  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on all HR policies.
  • Manage monthly headcount reporting ensuring full accuracy of data submitted.
  • Oversee all internal HR systems ensuring data is up to date and GDPR compliant to allow for monthly KPI reporting.
  • Work with the HR Advisors to provide full support for first stage disciplinary/grievance hearings across all locations.
  • Provide support to the Talent Acquisition Coordinator on recruitment and selection. Provide interview support to line managers as and when required. Oversee and manage absence across all locations with Occupational Health and ensure the absence management policy is followed including the promotion of our wellbeing strategy.
  • Work alongside Trade Unions and seek ways to improve TU relationships.
  • Provide administrative HR support such as employment contracts and letter drafting as and when directed.

Specification:

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate evidence in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures. Experience of the full recruitment process including interviewing and assessment is advantageous.
  • The ability to work autonomously and be a strong team player is essential for this role.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong influencing, persuading, coaching, and negotiating skills at interview.
  • Advisor role CIPD qualified
