Zest Education are recruiting a motivated primary school teacher to join a school based in Selly Oak, starting in November 2024 and is ongoing for the foreseeable. You will be required to teach a Year 6 class on a part-time basis, 3 days a week. This will enable you to build a long-lasting relationship with a school as well as have an amazing work/life balance!

This school promotes high standards of behaviour and academic achievement. They encourage the children to be independent learners and deliver them a curriculum that not only engages them but also inspires them. The ideal candidate must be committed to supporting the Year 6 pupils as they transition into secondary education. You must be able to motivate the children and provide a stimulating curriculum that supports all their needs.

As a Year 6 Teacher you will:

  • Evaluate, document, and report on the growth, achievement, and development of the students in your class.
  • Support students in SAT preparation.
  • Provide an engaging learning environment and give lessons that are effective in order to help the students meet high academic standards.
  • Establish a good rapport with parents, governors, teachers, and students in order to support the school's operations.
  • Support whole school improvement by ensuring that policies and procedures are applied consistently to all students in the year group.
  • Set strict guidelines for conduct and disciplinary measures in compliance with school policy.

You must:

  • Hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Successful DBS and safeguarding clearance.
  • Have a secure understanding of the national curriculum.
  • Experience of teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Have an appetite to challenge and the ability to inspire enthusiasm and confidence in others.
  • A wide range of IT skills that will be used daily within this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
