The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Castleford area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team on nights.
Hours: Monday to Friday with occasional weekend availability, start times between 5pm and 8pm.
Pay Rate: £16.50 per hour PAYE.
Location: Castleford, WF10.
Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.
The role:
- Drive and operate Class 1 double-decker vehicles, 10 hour average shift length.
- Nightly pick-ups and deliveries to either Preston or Swadlincote.
- Efficiently manage loads with tip-only or reload operations.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete required documentation accurately.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
- Have at least 2 years of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
- Full understanding of WTD legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A safety-first mindset.
- A positive, can-do attitude and be prepared to complete a small induction on site.
- Be accustomed to working the night shift.
