Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Grade 8 Occupational Therapist to join our team, providing specialized support and rehabilitation for adults with diverse needs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals, promoting independence, and facilitating their reintegration into daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Intervention:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' needs and develop personalized intervention plans.

  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support physical, mental, and social well-being.

  • Case Management:

  • Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and effective monitoring of progress.

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including social workers, physiotherapists, and psychologists, to provide holistic care.

  • Therapeutic Programs:

  • Design and lead group therapy sessions and workshops aimed at skill development and community reintegration.

  • Utilize adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to enhance clients' functional abilities.

  • Education and Training:

  • Provide training and guidance to staff, caregivers, and families on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support clients.

  • Contribute to the development of training materials and resources for ongoing professional development.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Participate in service evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with clinical standards and best practices.

  • Engage in reflective practice and continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, interventions, and client progress.

  • Prepare reports for funding bodies, referrals, and case conferences as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:

  • Recognized degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.

  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Significant post-qualification experience in adult mental health or physical rehabilitation settings.

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments and developing intervention plans.

  • Desirable:

  • Specialist training in relevant therapeutic modalities or advanced clinical skills.

  • Experience in supervising junior staff or students.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
