Great opportunity for a Logistics General Manager to manage the Newport site of a well-established business within the transport sector
The successful candidate will be responsible for a sizeable team along with operational and financial performance across warehousing and transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial management of the operation
- Effectively lead the distribution operation to provide a reliable and punctual service and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for correct staffing levels to maintain service and productivity.
- Drive efficiency through continuous improvement and KPI management.
- Lead, engage and coach a sizeable team.
- Set strategy, drive innovation and lead change.
- Engage with key customers to improve service and support future business growth.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Previous senior management experience within a transport operation or customer centric distribution environment.
- The credibility and gravitas necessary not only to engage with and develop the workforce but to also build an excellent working relationship with clients.
- Proven continuous improvement experience along with the capacity to identify areas for improved processes /productivity.
- Budget management experience.
- Strong commercial acumen
