Accelerate Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a dynamic secondary school in Kirklees. This role is pivotal in ensuring continuity of learning for students when their regular teacher is unavailable. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring that students remain on task and follow the lesson plans provided.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, creating a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Support students with their learning activities, offering guidance and assistance as needed.
- Liaise with teaching staff to understand the needs of different classes and adapt to various subjects and age groups.
- Provide feedback to the regular classroom teachers about student performance and any issues that arise.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a cover supervisor role or similar educational setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain order and discipline.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- A genuine interest in education and a desire to support student development.
