Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Electro/Mechanical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a Manufacturer in the heart of Lancashire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of plant machinery, ensuring efficient and effective production. This role requires a self-starter who can resolve a wide range of routine and complex issues independently and carry out medium mechanical engineering installations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and communicate progress to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Reorder used parts as required, maintaining stock levels.
- Complete preventative plant maintenance and maintain full documentation, escalating faults when necessary.
- Ensure quality compliance and complete routine documentation in line with manufacturing requirements.
- Comply with all site policies, including Health, Safety, Environment, and Energy (HSHE).
- Manage all electrical/mechanical contractors on-site, including documentation such as Systems of Work, Permits to Work, and Risk Assessments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ 4 /HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- 18th Edition qualification is preferable.
- Experience working at heights.
- Proficiency in electrical controls, electrostatic powder coating plants, hydraulic and pneumatic controls, mechanical fitting, service and repair, and mechanical installation.
- Skills in electrical installation, plumbing, power presses, fabrication and welding.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of IOSH, COSHH, and operational fault finding.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage self, and coach and develop others.
