Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday)

Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our growing team at our headquarters. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone relatively new to the HSE profession who is eager to build their career and gain hands-on experience across a wide range of industries including construction, steel fabrication, and renewable energy.
You will report directly to the Senior HSE Manager and play a key role in supporting the development and continual improvement of HSE standards across the business. Your work will ensure legal compliance while fostering a positive and proactive HSE culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review risk assessments and safe systems of work, providing practical feedback.
- Conduct regular site inspections (some involving overnight stays) with clear documentation.
- Promote a strong, positive HSE culture across all business areas.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of HSE management systems aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and presentations to managers and operational teams.
- Provide HSE advice to managers and supervisors across all departments.
- Use digital systems confidently to generate reports and manage HSE documentation.
- Support incident investigations and help identify corrective actions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
- A solid understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- CSCS card (preferred but not essential).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and approachable.
- Previous HSE experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Competent with IT and digital tools.
