Your new role
This role is intended to bring both capacity and specialist knowledge to drive both the immediate requirements of the service as well as the transformational change needed in the medium term. The role will lead on museums for the City Council and you will be reporting into the Head of Service for Cultural Development & Tourism, but work closely in partnership with Birmingham Museum Trust that is responsible for delivering the service functionality. You will also be responsible for:
- Undertaking the city councils strategic and client role for the museum service
- Working with their delivery partner BMT to ensure a sustainable 5-year plan is developed
- Programme managing the 5-year plan on behalf of BCC
- Reviewing funding streams and commercial opportunities
- Ensure progress is made on current specific issues including
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing this role, you should have experience as a project and/or programme lead, have strong organisational and negotiation skills, and fantastic communication and relationship building.
The following attributes/experience will also be very advantageous: museum sector, commercial acumen, property/regeneration experience.
