We are one of Europe's leading designers and manufactures within the engineering sector and employ over 200 staff in the UK and Overseas. We have manufacturing facilities which span over 5 plus units at our head office in Frimley.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Projects Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role you will play a crucial part in overseeing people, procedures, and processes within the department, driving the team to meet and exceed business targets. This position requires a seasoned professional who can confidently lead a shift of around 8 individuals, including Engineers and Administrators.

Working Monday to Friday 8:30 – 17:00 and 8:30 – 14:30 Fridays, you will receive a salary of up to £55k, profit share scheme paid twice yearly, enhanced salary sacrifice pension, retail discounts, two paid volunteering days per year, cycle to work scheme, gym discounts, car maintenance scheme, saving, investments and debt advice, voluntary private healthcare plans and more. In time this role will open up an opportunity for some hybrid working.

As the project manager your responsibilities will include the undertaking of appraisals and performance management procedures, you must be able to demonstrate you have previous experience in these aspects of managing people. Alongside this you will have proven Project Management experience and a background in Manufacturing Engineering.

Reporting directly into the operations manager and leading a team of 8 your key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Project Ownership: Oversee all Housing Sales order projects from handover to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to specifications, and budget compliance.
  • Project Classification: Classify new projects internally and ensure adherence to established procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Schedule and Progress Management: Manage project schedules, progress reports, customer communications, escalations, and change and deviation management.
  • Production Scheduling: Coordinate production scheduling and assign delivery dates for all work orders, collaborating with the Production Manager to ensure targets are met.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage internal Project Engineers and Project Support Admin, including daily task allocation and prioritisation.
  • Resource Coordination: Facilitate collaboration with internal resources, including Production, in partnership with relevant Team Leaders or Managers.
  • Project Handover: Work with Sales and Proposals teams on new projects to ensure accurate handovers to the Housing Projects Team.
  • Stock Target Management: Set and achieve stock targets for housings, sub-assemblies, and components.
  • Product Development: Manage new product development, prototypes, and launches.
  • ERP System Management: Oversee ERP system change control, including updates to BOMs and Routes.
  • Lessons Learned: Conduct project debriefs to capture lessons learned and improve processes (kick-off and Wash-up procedures).
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • KPI Achievement: Establish and achieve team KPIs.
  • Leadership and Communication: Lead by example, demonstrating Amazon's Behaviours and Values. Clearly communicate key messages and goals and enhance the team's reputation within the company.
  • Recruitment: Manage the recruitment process and ensure a successful induction of new team members.
  • Objectives/Goal Setting: Establish and agree on SMART objectives for individuals and the team, tracking performance accordingly.
  • Performance Management and Training: Conduct appraisals, provide regular and constructive feedback and address performance and conduct issues promptly and constructively with HR support. Identify and promote training and development opportunities.
  • Absence Management: Manage sickness and annual leave in line with company policy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

To be successful for the Project Manager role you will ideally have a degree within an engineering discipline and have a qualification in Project Management with proven experience in project management.
