Health & Safety Officer

We are seeking a Health & Safety Officer to develop, implement, and oversee health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all our employees. This role will involve regular risk assessments, training, and compliance monitoring to minimize health and safety risks in both field operations and office settings.

This is a new role with an opportunity to make it your own, the status quo and established process are to be challenged, supported by a renewed focus on building a zero-harm culture.

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional who is not afraid of a challenge and ready to roll up their sleeves and engage and interact with the field-based teams.

What can you bring to Banham?

Your experience working within a similar role alongside your understanding of health and safety policies and procedures will enable you to:

  • Develop and implement policies ensuring best practices are followed and adhered to at all times.
  • Undertake risk assessments, identifying any hazards or risks, and implementing new processes and procedures whilst continuously monitoring these.
  • Design and deliver health and safety training for inductions, and holding regular refresher courses, to promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns, workshops, and continuous education.
  • Lead on investigations relating to health and safety, near misses and accidents, preparing detailed reports with root cause and recommended corrective actions.
  • Keep up to date with current health and safety legislation ensuring company compliance.
  • Conduct regular Site Inspections.
  • Develop emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
  • Maintain accurate records such as training logs and incident reports
  • Support with audits and compliance checks by ensuring documentation is easily accessible.
  • Promote occupational health and well being initiatives.
