Location: Dudley, DY1

Days: 5 days, Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Pay Rate: £120 - £150 per day

Start Date: September 2024 or nearest possible date

Purpose: Support the school in managing the needs of students who require particular support to overcome behavioural, emotional or social barriers to learning, in order for them to engage fully with learning in a mainstream context.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of student behaviour and the isolation room within the school, intervening directly in behavioural incidents.
  • Welcome and engage with students assigned to the behaviour and isolation room.
  • Offer pastoral care and guidance to students in the designated area, aiding in their emotional, social and behavioural growth.
  • Create a calm working atmosphere with minimum disturbance.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of students to identify those requiring specialised support and implement personalised interventions.
  • Encourage and empower students in the internal isolation setting, fostering self-esteem and motivation.
  • Provide information and guidance to empower students in making informed decisions about their behaviour.
  • Deliver feedback to students in the isolation setting regarding their progress, achievements, behaviour and attendance.
  • Identify students needing curriculum adjustments to address behavioural needs.
  • Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) regarding students needing additional behavioural support and with special educational needs (SEND).
  • Observe lessons and support subject teachers in evaluating individual student behaviour management needs, offering strategies to enhance behaviour and engagement, including implementing Individual Education Plans for Behaviour (IEPs).
  • Develop and manage small group mentoring initiatives and one-on-one behavioural support sessions in collaboration with Heads of Year.
