Job Title: Senior Claims Handler- Home Insurance
Contract Type: Permanent, Full time, part time, job share.
Salary Range: £25,600 - £38,400
Location: Eastleigh, Hybrid flexible working options available.

Senior Claims Handler: Our busy Household Claims Department are looking for dedicated and passionate Senior Claims Handlers to join the team in Eastleigh. As a Senior Claims Handler, you will effectively manage a portfolio of complex and high value household claims from notification through to settlement.

Knowledge of technical claims within Household insurance environment is essential for this role.

As a Senior Claims Handler, you will, make decisions for paying or rejecting claims, up to your authority limit and make early quality and timely decisions throughout the claim lifecycle. You will identify and investigate potentially fraudulent claims and provide recommendations for repudiation where appropriate. You will support our customers through the claims journey where this has significantly impacted their day-to-day life.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their experience within the Household department, working with a team of experienced Senior Handlers whilst also being supported by the wider department including Technical Claims.

Main Responsibilities as a Senior Claims Handler

  • Provide all customers, both internal and external, with the highest possible level of service.
  • Investigate and handle claims prmptly and thoroughly, in line with departmental procedures.
  • Pro-actively manage your own case load.
  • Identify and manage all recovery opportunity to protect Ageas financial interests.
  • Change advocate, building knowledge and expertise on process and systems.
  • Taking responsibility for understanding your own performance using data.
  • Responsible for your own continuous development collaborating with other internal departments including Technical Claims.

Skills and experience you need as Senior Claims Handler

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in dealing with complex home insurance claims us essential with a claims value of up to £50,000
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Good investigation and negotiation skills with customers, and third parties.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate curiosity to learn and willingness to take ownership of your own personal development.
