My client is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for five entities within their Clinical & Commercial Pharma Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for month-end tasks, balance sheet reconciliations, and providing valuable insights into their financial performance.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Approve payments in line with group policy, including payroll bank files.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities and geographies.
  • Manage full P&L and balance sheet for European subsidiaries, liaising with local accountants regarding payroll and tax, and posting relevant entries.
  • Provide insight and variance analysis on monthly P&L submissions for multiple entities.
  • Raise intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany balances month on month.
  • Assist senior staff with audit requirements, both internal and external.
  • Support operations and commercial staff with ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Handle accruals and prepayments, and conduct monthly review calls with HR, payroll, and project managers as a finance partner.
  • Undertake any further duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part qualified accountant with at least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Commercially minded with experience working alongside non-financial managers.
  • Experience in implementing financial controls and procedures.
  • Accruals and Prepayments experience
  • Proficient in handling large volumes of data for decision-making.
  • Independent worker capable of delivering results promptly.
  • UK and ROI Payroll experience is beneficial.
  • Budget variance analysis experience is highly regarded.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Office 365 suite.
  • Experience with SAP and Xero is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work at all levels within a large organisation.
  • Practical, organised, results-focused, and detail-oriented.
