Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Hybrid: Two days a week on site, typically one of the days has to be a Thursday
Salary: £43,736.00 - £52,242.00

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Procurement and Contracts Manager to join our Professional Services Category team. This role is essential in developing and managing sourcing strategies and contracting processes to support our professional services stakeholders. You will be responsible for delivering compliant sourcing plans, managing supplier performance, conducting market analysis, and promoting procurement data analytics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our team's transformation plan and play a vital role in shaping the procurement function within LFB.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management: Monitor and manage existing contractual arrangements to enhance service delivery and value for money. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Scheme of Governance.

Tenders and Category Management: Lead procurement strategies for assigned categories, manage procurement activities from need identification to contract signature, and work towards long-term, end-to-end category management.

Financial Management: Assist in budget setting and monitoring, ensure secure maintenance of financial records, and assess value for money within procurement activities.

Reporting: Prepare high-quality reports on procurement, contractual matters, and project demand pipelines, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

Responsible Procurement: Implement "Responsible Procurement" agenda, promote environmental and social objectives through procurement, and adhere to Equalities and Health and Safety policies.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, propose changes, and support the transformation of procurement operations.

Staff Management: Manage and mentor junior staff, ensure adherence to training and development programs, and maintain an effective team dynamic.

Qualifications and Experience:

Significant hands-on experience in procurement, category, and contract management, preferably within the Professional Services category.
Strong knowledge of public sector procurement procedures and regulations.
Experience in drafting commercial/tender documents and managing supplier relationships.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools and familiarity with collaboration platforms like SharePoint and Teams.
CIPS certification or membership is preferred, with a willingness to pursue further professional development.
