Legal Secretary

Our client is a traditional legal practice handling various disciplines of law to include conveyancing, private client, family, litigation. This super friendly firm offers further training, a competitive salary and excellent career prospects.

Your duties will include assisting a senior conveyancing fee earner:

Lots of liaising with clients over the telephone, face to face and email etc

Handling searches and land registry and well as filling in other forms

Organising diary

Making appointments

Booking meeting rooms

Dealing with arching and filing

Audio and copy typing of letters, file notes, correspondence etc

Handling DX and Post

You must have subsantial legal secretarial experience or legal

Hours are full time Monday to Friday

Salary is competitive and dependable upon experience

THIS ROLE IS SUITED TO CANDIDATES LIVING IN MARKET WEIGHTON, POCKLINGTON, BEVERLEY AND SURROUNDING AREAS

This is an exciting role, busy and rewarding and would suit a candidate looking for a role offering great prospects and a long term future.

You will assist the legal team with all aspects of plot work to include (but not limited to) reservations, engrossments, filing, exchanges, title checks, completions, general legal office duties. You will not have your own caseload initially; however, you will work closely with other conveyancers to assist with their workload and cover during annual leave and sick leave.

Dealing with miscellaneous standard conveyancing matters (with supervision)

Dealing with post completion matters such as SDLT's and land registration where necessary.

Assisting with lease/transfer variation and reversion sales

Assistant with recovery and retention (non-litigious)

Conducting work in relation to electronic identity checks

dealing with requests for certificates of compliance for management companies that have not yet been handed over and also with enquiries received from owners on historic sites.

conducting work using the firms case management system

Essential requirements - substantial legal experience

Hours are full time Monday to Friday
