Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer in Aeronautical Engineering at our Northbrook, Shoreham Airport Campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,189 - £40,839 per annum.

The Lecturer in Aeronautical Engineering role:

Our Aeronautical department has an amazing flight hangar with a variety of aircraft and a Technician, delivering Level 2 & Level 3 Aircraft Maintenance.

The Shoreham teaching team has a real team ethos and is very dynamic and creative in their approach to delivering an outstanding experience for learners wishing to pursue a career in their chosen field. Situated in an airport, it is well placed to support and engage with industry developing links for learner experience. Do you feel you would fit into this team?

If yes, then you will be self-motivated and want to inspire the next generation of Aircraft Engineers. You will have a relevant level 3 Aeronautical qualification, or be able to evidence sufficient experience and be CAA approved. You will have maths and english at level 2 and be able to use most Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Word.

If you do not have a teaching and/or assessing qualification, we will train you to gain these qualifications. We are very keen to provide all our team with the opportunity to continually develop their skill set.

Key Responsibilities of our Lecturer in Aeronautical Engineering:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
  • Participating in marketing activities and promoting the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.

Our ideal Lecturer in Aeronautical Engineering should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject
  • Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team with interpersonal skills
  • Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners
  • The ability to obtain an appropriate teaching qualification as defined by the Corporation
