Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced estimator to join our implementation team. As such you will be responsible for calculating all tender opportunities and helping to interrogate existing cost bases throughout the various inhouse accounts. The role is intrinsic to the development of the business and you will be involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of a project. In addition, the desired candidate will be a champion of sustainability and have the ability to research material and operational options available. Thus, aiding the company in achieving it's environmental targets and ultimately carbon neutrality
To be successful, you should have excellent communication skills and great attention to detail. Outstanding estimators can negotiate with a range of professionals, make accurate time and cost estimates and resolve any issues that arise. You should also possess an open mind to any / all potential ‘alternative' materials and savings
Main duties:
- Determining the total cost of materials and equipment for Fitout and Unitary projects
- Researching Tender documents and analysing specifications.
- Preparing estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.
- Managing pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
- Ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
- Regularly reporting to Management and keeping all parties updated on the project status.
- Formulating contingency plans and effectively managing risks that might impact cost and time estimates.
- Keeping track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related manufacturing and production techniques / materials
- Collaborating with other teams, conducting site visits, and providing other services.
- Research and provide the business full sustainability options and processes – become a champion within this field and help drive / direct the sustainable credentials of the business offer.
- Look to further accreditations supporting the sustainable drive
