Construction Manager

As a Construction Manager, you will oversee and direct construction projects specifically on London Underground with our Contractor client. Your responsibilities will include managing construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil engineering and a strong understanding of underground infrastructure projects.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Take full ownership of projects from Tender to practical completion and handover.
  • Advise on contract procurement routes, select appropriate contractors and professional teams.
  • Provide direction, focus, and consistency to contractors, ensuring maximised value and efficiency.
  • Attend internal team meetings to communicate completed work and action plans.
  • Visit sites as needed to monitor progress in line with programme and budget.
  • Identify and resolve reasons for delayed progress with practical solutions.
  • Challenge operational, architectural, servicing, structural, and construction assumptions in weekly design meetings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Project/Site management experience working for a sub-contractor.
  • Client-facing with experience managing multiple sites and direct staff as well as subcontractors.
  • Trade background is ideal.
  • Proficiency with construction drawings and setting out.
  • Experience using A-Site and/or 4Projects.
  • Health & Safety experience, including generating RAMS, CPP, and ITP.
  • Excellent communication, management, organisational, and administrative skills.
