Junior First Line Support Engineer

Robert Half is recruiting a motivated Junior First Line Support Engineer for a leading global financial services institution. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for permanent placement.

Role:

The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing first-line technical support to our internal users, ensuring that IT-related issues are resolved efficiently and effectively, minimising downtime, and maintaining high levels of user satisfaction. The junior support engineer will be tasked with the following:

  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, escalating more complex problems to second-line support or relevant teams as necessary.
  • Log, track, and manage support requests in the IT service management system, ensuring all tickets are resolved within agreed SLAs
  • Help users with IT-related inquiries, including software installations, password resets, account setup, and system configurations
  • Provide basic training to end-users on IT systems and applications as needed to enhance user competency.

Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Between one and three years of IT support experience
  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficient in using Active Directory for on boarding / off boarding as well as user permissions.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality support to internal stakeholders.
  • Any additional professional qualifications are highly desirable, as is experience working in financial services.
