Deputy MLRO AML Advisory Director

Responsibilities:

  • Offer guidance on daily AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC issues impacting the business, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance standards and industry best practices. This includes, but is not limited to, areas such as customer identification and due diligence, enhanced due diligence, policy formulation, governance, training, and compliance assurance and testing.
  • Conduct and deliver expert AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC research, risk assessments, reporting, and analytical support promptly.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of effective AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC policies, processes, and controls.
  • Offer thought leadership and share industry knowledge within your area of expertise, participating in knowledge transfer within the team and the business.
  • Engage in personal performance management and development activities, including cross-training within your team.
  • Enhance team skills and capabilities through mentorship, sharing knowledge and experiences, and leveraging best practices.
  • Lead, motivate, and foster relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.

Skills desired:

  • Must possess the International Compliance Association Diploma or ACAMS certification.
  • Must have experience with economic sanctions.
  • Trade finance experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience as an MLRO in a smaller firm or as a Deputy MLRO is required. Candidates with experience as a VP of Financial Crime will be considered if they can demonstrate support for senior-level personnel.
  • Must have capital market experience, including fixed income, metals, and FX.
  • Some experience managing junior staff members is required.
