The Opportunity

Our client, that provides national critical infrastructure is looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Possessing strong AWS IaaS skills, you will play a key role within the team to help maximise the cloud technologies being delivered.

You will both provide support for live services for cloud technologies as well as deliver projects with both internal and external support vendors across a wide range of technologies. Within this role you also have the freedom to explore and provide the best solutions for the organisation and in turn develop your technical skills by supporting and configuring some challenging products and technologies.

The business operates a flexible hybrid working policy where you will be in the office on average 1 day a week.

Our client doesn't sponsor visas, so applicants will need an Indefinite Leave to Remain status.

The business has a strong track record of developing people and will offer both internal and external training, supporting certifications where required.

The Role

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will manage incidents and requests to be resolved in an efficient and professional manner and in line with service level agreements. You will

  • Configure and deliver cloud services, 3rd party tools and integration.
  • Provide technical consultation on current and proposed cloud services.
  • Plan and scope highly available cloud solutions.
  • Support existing cloud services and infrastructure to the Service Desk team when required.
  • Maintain & create the required technical documentation.
  • Adopt a DEV OPS culture and keeping up to date with the latest cloud offerings in the industry.
  • Participate in an out of hours on-call rota.

The Requirements

With a solid infrastructure background, you will have progressed to becoming a technically minded Cloud professional being proficient with managing AWS IaaS environments. With experience in designing, delivering and supporting cloud solutions, you will possess a minimum of 3 years' AWS experience, specifically with:

  • Core AWS services – EC2, Storage, IAM, Databases, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, API Gateways & System Manager.
  • Experience in deploying infrastructure as code, with eg. CloudFormation, Terraform
  • Experience in deploying and maintaining code pipelines.
  • The ability to understand and maintain the AWS VPC network roles (Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPNs, ACLs, NACLs, Peering & Route Tables).
  • DevOps – understanding of continuous delivery and continuous integration.
