The Opportunity

Due to continued business growth and development of the Advisory sector, our client has a new role for a Project Planner (scheduler) to join our busy group in London. You will work as a Project Planner and develop programmes (schedules) in P6 and MS Project as directed by the Project Manager or the needs of the project team. You may work on one key project at a time for a long period or have multiple projects and be moved over to the next serving our business requirements. This will mean working on different projects and possibly involve travel to different locations for on-site meetings.

You will be involved in projects across our client UK, which can include large public infrastructure projects relating to roads, highways, and rail, as well as building structures in the commercial and healthcare sectors. You will support the growth of the Project Controls team by ensuring collaborative working with the team and delivering work to the correct standards expected of this role and seniority. You will also coordinate and lead the project team to create a robust, logically linked, resource, cost-loaded schedule from scratch for our clients.

At our client, you belong to an extraordinary collective - in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share, and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives, and ideas. You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning - to our client, to your career, to our members, and to the clients and communities we serve.

In this role, you will provide project planning support to delivery teams in the following areas:

  • Design and construction management.
  • Change control.
  • Actions/Issues management.
  • Cost management.
  • Contract and procurement management.
  • If you have a background in reading tenders, contract and project control documentation to extract the necessary information to build a programme to client specifications, we want to hear from you. You may have diverse planning expertise and project knowledge across a range of industries, including Energy, Nuclear, Environmental, Rail, and Highways. However, we also welcome applications from people with a blend of project planning and operations consultancy experience.

Requirements

  • Highly skilled in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office suites.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracts or similar.
  • Professional certifications relating to planning.
  • Graduate-level qualifications in a relevant construction/engineering discipline or similar.
