Are you a passionate, dedicated Outreach Family Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting an Outreach Family Support Worker to join an Early Help Team based in Liverpool.

Duration: 3 months initially

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 35 hrs/week

Outreach Family Support Worker role: Full JD Available

  • Undertake early help assessments with families, create support plans and chair team around the family meetings to review the progress and identify any additional areas of support
  • Address the needs of young people with the aim of improving their engagement in mainstream education
  • Provide empowering, interventions to children and families to help address emerging worries and affect positive change to improve the longer term outcomes of children and young people
  • Coordinate support with our multi-agency partners to ensure that a whole family approach is taken to address the identified needs of the family
  • Provide outreach and home based Early Help Support to vulnerable children and young people who are identified as being at risk of a variety of issues
  • Review plans at the required timescales
  • Work with the families to reduce challenging behaviour
  • Promote the safeguarding of children and young people
  • Support parents in developing practical parenting strategies which enhance positive parent/carer-child relations. This can include facilitated meetings between family members
  • Support the delivery of supervised contact to cases that are open to Early Help
  • Keep effective records on the electronic systems, which includes the recording of plans, assessments, chronologies and associated general notes
  • Develop strong, trusting working relationships
  • Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary

Essential Requirements

  • Experience of direct work with children, young people and their families
  • Experience of delivering outreach and home based support to children and families to address areas of identified need
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team across a range of services including Health, Education, Children's Centres, School's Family Support Service, etc. to support parents in meeting the needs of their children
  • Ability to communicate effectively, using good written and verbal skills
  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
