Are you an experienced professional looking for an exciting new challenge? Our client, the Office of the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, is seeking a proactive and highly organised Executive Support Manager to join their team in Lewes. As the Executive Support Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing high-level support to the Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) and the Executive Management Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all executive support to the PCC in writing speeches, letters, and presentations by conducting thorough research and commissioning relevant studies.
  • Manage the PCC's diary, appointments, travel, and briefings, ensuring efficient and effective scheduling.
  • Oversee the provision of support functions for the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner, including building maintenance, IT provisions, health & safety compliance, and finance arrangements.
  • Line manage and support a team of Correspondence Officers, Interns, and temporary project staff, ensuring efficient allocation of tasks and monitoring of deadlines.
  • Act as a confidential liaison between the PCC and internal/external stakeholders, handling sensitive correspondence and representing the PCC's interests.
  • Provide executive support to local, regional, and national meetings or committees chaired by the PCC and the Executive Management Team, including drafting presentations, reports, and speeches.

Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience supporting managers at an executive level within an organisation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including diary management, time management, and delegation.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in office management and liaising with maintenance, suppliers, and landlords.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the willingness to take initiative.
  • Knowledge of the public sector or a governance environment is a plus.
