I am recruiting for an experienced Customs Brokerage Supervisor to join a well established freight forwarder based in the Dewsbury, West Yorkshire area. You MUST have previous Customs experience.
Daily duties will include:
- Manage the day to day operational activities of the Customs department.
- Monitoring customs team- holiday/ sickness cover
- To develop working relationships clients and all departments
- Monitor and review our Duty/VAT exposure and ensuring goods are not released without payment or alternative agreed payment terms.
- Training new members of staff
- Respond to customer and operational enquiries quickly and effectively.
- To visits to customers when requested
- Assist with, where appropriate, external customs visits/audits.
- Ensure that customs guarantees are maintained at the correct level.
- To motivate the team
- Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Experience needed:
- Senior/ supervisory experience within a similar role
- PC literate
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Working hours:
- Monday - Friday 0900am - 1730pm (1 day in the office)
