Salary - £60k - 65K depending on experience + Benefits

Bradford city centre (with some hybrid working circa 2 days per week once established)

Full time, Monday – Friday (35 hour week but may be required to work additional hours as necessary – some flex with start and finish times)

Our client is offering a unique opportunity for an experienced, qualified and hands on Head of Finance to join it's busy team, with a view to being well placed to become the Finance Director within the next 5 years.

Directly managing a team of 4 (full team is 10), you'll be hands on leader within the business and an integral part of this organisation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the current Finance Director to understand the role and demonstrate that they could ensure a smooth transition when the current Finance Director retires.

We need someone who can influence and manage the strategic development and direction of the department. Someone with an innovative approach who will embrace technology to drive efficiencies and deliver an effective and highly regarded service to the organisation.

Experience required:

  • You will have experience managing a complex finance function in an SME, housing or third sector setting.
  • You will have knowledge and experience of strategic financial planning and control underpinned with a relevant professional finance or business qualification.
  • Experience of leading a team through change, promoting best practice and best value principles.
  • You will have a broad knowledge and understanding of the legal compliance requirements of finance including reporting, audit, tax, loan covenants and contracts.
  • Good knowledge of company law, UK GAAP, Housing SORP and Charities SORP.
  • Knowledge of Housing Benefit requirements, especially around Exempt Accommodation would be an asset.
