Accounts Payable Clerk
- Annual Salary: £24,000 - £27,000

- Job Type: Full-time, 6-month contract
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Leatherhead. This role is ideal for a bright graduate looking to kickstart their career in accounts or someone with 6-12 months of experience in a similar role. The position is 100% office-based, offering a structured environment to develop your skills in financial processing.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Daily posting of high volumes of supplier and subcontractor invoices using both manual and electronic methods.
- Monitor and maintain the purchase ledger to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Act as the main point of contact for designated suppliers and subcontractors, resolving queries effectively and maintaining positive relationships.
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of supplier and subcontractor statements.
- Investigate and resolve purchase ledger queries as required.
- Process payment runs including BACS and cheques.
- Assist with regular payments including petty cash, compensations, and ad hoc requests.
- Analyse internal processes to recommend and implement procedural or policy changes to improve operations and service delivery.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and effectiveness within the finance team.
- Provide cover and support for other members of the finance team as needed.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Line Manager or Finance Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6-12 months experience in an accounts payable role is advantageous but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Navision software.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
