One of the UK's top 25 Law firms is set on hiring a new Secretarial Services Manager due to natural growth within the firm. You will be responsible for leading the secretarial function across its Scottish offices, overseeing circa 20 PAs while assisting one senior fee earner.

What does the day to day look like?

  • Keep things running smoothly in Secretarial Services by regularly checking in and making adjustments as needed
  • Look for ways to improve our services and work with important team members to tackle problems and keep things getting better
  • Be the go-to person for the Heads of Groups, executive teams, Partners, and fee earners
  • Stay on top of resource needs to make sure our Groups get what they require to succeed
  • Oversee ongoing performance by having regular check-ins, one-on-one meetings, and setting team goals
  • Spot training and development needs and help arrange the right support for the team
  • Get involved in hiring and selection processes
  • Help the firm-wide Secretarial Services projects and collaborate with key Business Services partners when necessary
  • Travel between office's may be required from time to time this will be fully expensed

Can you be successful?

  • The hiring manager has said existing experience managing a team is essential
  • Legal experience is preferable to the hiring team however professional services experience they will be keen to see also
  • Focused on delivering great service and being responsive
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
  • Experience in a fast-paced setting with tight deadlines and high-quality expectations
  • Open to flexible working hours to meet job demands
  • Skilled in managing and engaging with stakeholders
