My client is a looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their current commercial team, they are forward thinking, leading main contractor on a large infrastructure project in West London. The Quantity Surveyor will be working closely alongside an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor and taking responsibility for the commercial management of a package of works.
Job Description:
Are you an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career? My client is seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join the team in London. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality services whilst playing a key part in a well-known infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to efficient and effective management by issuing accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence.
- Preparing or evaluating applications, valuations, and cost/value reconciliations.
- Managing costs and forecasting, including preparing monthly reports on value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow, and budget
- Preparing and agreeing on payment applications or assessing and preparing payment certificates.
- Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimise solutions, regularly reviewing with the project team, and addressing commercial risks.
- Managing contracts, utilising relevant contractual forms, budgetary control methods, and software applications.
- Initiating and managing supply chain enquiries, negotiating, administering, and closing out supply chain contracts.
- Ensuring all notifications and documents adhere to contract and company policies.
- Maintaining ongoing communication with site teams, subcontractors, and Customers' representatives.
- Managing record-keeping duties such as collating site records, preparing meeting materials, sending meeting invites, and documenting meeting minutes.
- Providing contractual advice to project/site teams as needed.
Requirements:
- Notable experiecne working within an M&E or MEP role
- Previously worked for a UK based main contractor
- Previous experience using the NEC contract
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A practical approach with a logical thought process
- Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
