Project Planning Manager

  • Job Type: Full-time 37 hours per week, Fixed term contract 2 years
  • Location: Home working with occasional travel to Staffordshire
  • Salary: £46,500-£51,500 per annum plus benefits

We are seeking a Project Planning Manager for our public sector client to provide strategic guidance and leadership in the planning and management of school places. The role involves working closely with the Council to ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding policies, as well as promoting diversity and equality. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, data analysis, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on delivering educational excellence and sufficiency.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Develop and oversee policies and operational planning for school organisation matters.
  • Prepare forecasts of pupil numbers using a variety of data sources.
  • Create and maintain strategic plans for pupil place planning, ensuring the successful delivery of said projects.
  • Lead research and maintain links with organisations that have successful pupil place planning schemes.
  • Manage and develop staff within the school organisation team, including performance reviews.
  • Lead on complex process development and promote the benefits of School Organisation to stakeholders.
  • Present at board level updating on all projects
  • Act as the main contact for project management liason with Head Teachers, Governors and Council Directors

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar strategic role within project management.
  • Proven ability to assess needs and make appropriate referrals to other agencies.
  • Strong partnership working skills with other services and agencies.
  • Solution-focused approach
  • Experience managing a delegated budget and allocating resources effectively.
  • Ability to interpret and forecast from raw data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce reports for various audiences.
