Procurement Manager

Rapidly growing SME require a Procurement Manager. Applicants need procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering, have strategic and operational expertise, and the ability to develop a Procurement team of Buyers.

The Procurement Manager will join an ambitious and rapidly growing SME, with a fantastic supportive and collaborative culture. The business produce award winning electro-mechanical products that are used across a broad range of industry sectors. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading all procurement activities for the business, mentoring and developing a team of Buyers and supporting company-wide objectives such as the implementation of a new MRP/ERP system.

Specific duties of the Procurement Manager include:

  • Lead strategic procurement activities; negotiation, long-term agreements, NPI, supplier selection/de-selection
  • Optimise inventory and stock holdings based on customer demand
  • On-going supplier relationship and performance management activities, de-risk supply chain
  • Development of procurement team of Buyers, nurture and help progress their careers
  • Collaboration with stakeholders across; Engineering, Operations and Quality

Procurement Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Procurement or Supply Chain experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
  • Ideally have previous staff management/supervisory experience, or the ability to mentor and develop Buyers
  • Strategic procurement experience around; negotiations, supplier management and risk
  • Collaborative, team-player who can foster excellent stakeholder relationships and drive change
  • Capable of flourishing in an SME business, embarking on an exciting growth trajectory
