We are seeking a Network and Street Works Manager with a passion for managing and improving highway networks. This role is ideal for a dynamic professional whose expertise can significantly impact the City of Doncaster Council.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage teams in Traffic Management, Streetworks, and Highway Regulation to ensure compliance with statutory duties.
  • Develop and implement policies to regulate activities on the highway network, aiming to minimize congestion and ensure safety.
  • Represent the council at regional and national forums to influence industry legislation and best practices.
  • Create contingency plans for incident management to minimize disruption from unplanned events.
  • Build partnerships with strategic partners and agencies to promote a resilient highway network.
  • Provide strategic guidance and detailed technical reports to Senior Management, the Mayor, and cabinet members.
  • Oversee capital and revenue budgets, ensuring effective planning and financial monitoring.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 6 qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • High level of post-qualification experience, with significant senior-level experience within a complex, customer-focused environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of traffic engineering, road safety, and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
  • Membership of an appropriate Professional Institution is required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Resilience under pressure and commitment to high standards of customer care.
