Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Plant Process & Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Desford plant. This permanent position offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in optimizing plant processes, ensuring reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The role-holder will lead the Process Improvement activity to help deliver the site by supporting all departments in actively improving Plant performance. In addition, you will drive sustainability through good change management and involvement of all teams to ensure knowledge transfer and promote clear and transparent communication to the plant of existing and future project activities and progress.

You will also effectively manage plant improvement projects, utilising plant wide resource and using appropriate LEAN Manufacturing and World Class Manufacturing tools in all cases and ensure that plant performance is maximised and sustained to support delivery of plant KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimization: Analyse, monitor, and enhance plant processes to maximize efficiency, output, and quality
  • Reliability Engineering: Develop and implement reliability strategies to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and support continuous improvement projects, utilizing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Maintenance Support: Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop preventive maintenance plans and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, Analyse, and interpret data to identify trends, make recommendations, and support decision-making processes.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all processes and activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: Manage and coordinate projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards
  • Training & Development: Provide training and support to plant personnel on process optimization, reliability practices, and new technologies
  • Leadership in Process Improvement: Lead the Process Improvement activity across the site, supporting all departments in actively improving plant performance

Education / Qualification:

  • IOSH certificate (or equivalent level) in Safety Management; or be on an internal development program to bring them to this level within 12 months of appointment.
  • We are looking for a flexible self-starter with a manufacturing background
  • Strong motivator of people with ability to set and maintain high standards.
  • Good Team builder, track record of delivering improvement through others.
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage change to deliver sustainable, measurable improvement in all aspects of manufacturing performance.
  • Self-motivated to identify and deliver improvement against agreed objectives and timescales.

  • Able to execute and deliver improvement (Through good data collection and analytical skills.)
