Sommelier

We are looking for a trainee Sommelier to join a 5* hotel in Oxfordshire. No prior experience is required. We are looking to provide training for those who are willing to kickstart their career in the world of wine.
The Sommelier team, headed up by a master sommelier, will provide you with exceptional wine knowledge alongside attentive and personalised wine recommendations. Duties include taking wine orders, sharing knowledge and suggesting wines for our members based on their personal tastes to create a bespoke and exclusive experience for every guest and will provide a luxury beverage service to the highest standard.

Who we are looking for?

  • Someone with an interest in wine and it's history.
  • Experience in service within a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and deliver results to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable talking to people.
  • An enthusiastic team player with a positive mindset and hugely charismatic
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and organisational skills
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experience with keen attention to detail
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and hosting.

On target potential earnings inclusive of Tronc is projected between £31,000- £35,000 per annum for this role. This is made up of a base rate of £11.33-£11.93 per hour (depending on experience), plus inclusion in our Tronc scheme.
