Grade: Grade 8 (Points 25 - 28)
Reports To: Principal

Are you an experienced and dynamic professional ready to play a pivotal role in the operational management of our school?

We are seeking a Business Support Manager to join our dedicated team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our school's business administration. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the overall success of the school by managing resources, overseeing staff, and supporting the Senior Leadership Team with strategic and operational decisions. We are looking to arrange interviews by the start of next week in person at our school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Management: Lead the operational management of the school, providing strategic advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team and the School Strategic Committee (SSC). Ensure that all school procedures align with Trust guidance and reflect best practices.
  • Resource Management: Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and spending priorities, ensuring that financial planning supports the school's development goals. Manage procurement, school trips, and the collection of monies for various events.
  • Staff Leadership: Line manage and performance manage administration and support staff, ensuring that they are well-trained, inducted, and supported in their roles. Participate in the recruitment, selection, and appointment of office staff.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure GDPR compliance across the school and maintain accurate records, including staff and volunteer DBS checks, sickness records, and the Single Central Register. Provide timely and accurate reports to the Senior Leadership Team, SSC, and external agencies.
  • Site and Safety Management: Collaborate with the site manager to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and students. Oversee risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • ICT and Data Management: Manage and develop school databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance. Oversee the daily backup of school data and maintain the school's website.
  • Extended Schools and Community Engagement: Promote and support the extended schools agenda, including arranging school-based activities, conducting audits, and researching funding opportunities.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of successfully managing teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • A sound understanding of financial management, resource allocation, and budget planning.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding practices.
  • Proficiency in ICT systems, including SIMS and other school management software.
