Data Engineer

£65,000 - £75,000 per annum
We are looking for a Data Engineer for our client in the Insurance industry. You will be supporting the Pricing team to interrogate data and implement pipelines across the lines of business to support advanced pricing. This is a hands on role to develop innovative and structured solutions to maximise Pricing potential.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data pipelines for pricing data
- Develop and maintain data pipelines in Spark based data platform
- Design and implement solutions that contribute to pricing data drive approach
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Actuaries, Predictive Modellers to deliver innovative data solutions for predictive pricing models
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights for pricing strategies
Key Skills:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in using SQL and/or PySpark for data-focused solutions
- Experience working in Insurance, ideally P&C
- Knowledge of cloud-based solutions (e. g Palantir Foundry, AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake)
- Some experience with Python, R or another coding language in addition to SQL
- Experience in data pipeline/ETL (Extract Transform Load) development, cleaning and bringing together multiple sources into a single production warehouse
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results on time
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
