The Director of Programmes/Projects is a senior leadership role that sits at the helm of our business and project management operations, providing strategic oversight, leadership and direction to ensure projects align with company strategy/objectives and are delivered successfully.

Description

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the overall management and performance of the entire business project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Providing the leadership and strategic direction on organisational change initiatives to enhance project delivery capabilities
  • Articulate and able to command the attention and respect of investors, customers, business partners and company executives
  • Contributing at leadership level, engaging, liaising and providing support to all stakeholders
  • Contributing with fresh ideas on strategy, business planning, and service delivery that will challenge normal practice
  • Conversant with contract management and contracts and have good negotiation skills
  • Building and sustaining an integrated, multi-cultural, cooperative and high performance team that anticipates and responds to the needs of the organisation and key stakeholders
  • Continuous improvement in the methods of working and best practice and alignment with FFL ethos
  • Accountable for attracting and retention; managing resource allocation; the mentoring and development of the talent in house and potential future leaders
  • Implementing strategies for service delivery, capturing learning to promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice
  • Establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies to ensure best practices, tools and processes

Qualifications/Accreditations

  • Project Management Knowledge: A solid foundation in project management principles, either through a degree or through certifications like PMP or PRINCE2
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations and strategy MBA or similar business-focused qualification
  • A background in major programme/project delivery e.g. rail, nuclear, aerospace, construction etc. Experience of telecoms industry would be beneficial.
