Temporary Maintenance Technician | £19.49 per hour (£37,998 per annum) plus an additional shift premium of £2546 | DE5, Derbyshire | Full time - Rotating Shift Pattern: 6am-2pm, 7am-3pm and 2pm-10pm 12 week assignment

Cherry Professional are seeking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Technician for a period of 12 weeks to join their innovative team based in the DE5 area of Derbyshire. This key role will provide planned and reactive asset care and mechanical and electrical reliability support for plant, machinery, and services across the site. At all times the role will operate with a safety and quality first, mindset. The role will lead and support root cause analysis, problem solving and identifying and implementing solutions to continually improve plant operations. The role will also provide support to capital investment projects across the site

The maintenance team operates on a rotating shift pattern. The team is responsible for plant, machinery, and services reliability through a combination of planned asset care, fault diagnosis, repair, and external servicing. The team consists of 1 team leader, 2 coordinators and 3 technicians

What we're looking for:

  • To communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience working in an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Experience working on a range of electrical and mechanical breakdowns repair of plant, machinery, and services
  • Experience of implementing PM schedules
  • Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and electrical systems
  • Experienced in root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Must have a NVQ level 3 or equivalent electrical engineering and time served apprenticeship

**The finer elements of the role include:

  • Carry out risk assessment of planned and reactive asset care works aligned with the business and implementing safe working systems to ensure zero harm is achieved across the site
  • Carry out asset care plans and PM schedules across a range of automated filling and packaging equipment, robotics, site services and liquids processing equipment
  • Operating within a CMMS system
  • Plant, machinery, and services breakdowns, identifying root cause, and implementing the required mechanical and electrical asset care
  • Assist with contractor servicing of plant, machinery, and services
  • Support the development of asset care improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, and reliability
