Job Overview

As a Triage Officer, you will be the first point of contact for homeless individuals and care leavers seeking assistance. Your primary responsibility will be to assess the urgency and nature of incoming inquiries, conduct triage assessments, and collect necessary documents to ensure they receive the appropriate support and services. This role is critical in providing timely and accurate aid to those in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments of incoming inquiries from homeless individuals and care leavers via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Prioritise cases based on urgency and severity, ensuring critical issues are addressed promptly.
  • Collect and verify necessary documents and information from clients.
  • Coordinate with various departments to route cases to the appropriate team or specialist.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, triage assessments, and collected documents.
  • Provide clear and accurate information to clients about the next steps and expected time lines.
  • Follow up on cases to ensure timely resolution and client satisfaction.
  • Identify trends and patterns in inquiries to help improve our services and processes.
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on company services and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, health care, customer service) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a triage, customer service, or support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and databases.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
