HGV Class 2 Driver

Our client is a family run, independent drinks distributor who have been established since 1995 and now supply establishments from pubs and nightclubs, to wedding venues and golf clubs throughout East Anglia.

The company are renowned for fantastic training, development of their staff via inhouse and external training courses and offer great support across the company for all members of staff.

They are now looking to for HGV Divers to join their busy team based in Braintree.

They offer comprehensive training on all aspects of the job, including manual handling, forklift licenses, and CPC training.

Enjoy the perk of early finishes 75% of the year, giving you more free time while still getting paid until 5pm! Late finishes are rare, occurring only 3% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate HGVs to transport drinks to dedicated locations.
  • Perform manual labour - full training provided
  • Use of trollies, pump trucks, crash mats, ropes - full training provided
  • Complete an average of 18 drops during peak season.
  • Empty the vehicle of empty kegs upon returning from deliveries.
  • Check next day's orders and load them as a team.
  • Assist other crews to finish their tasks if your vehicle is prepared for the next day.
  • Ensure accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ensure timely and efficient loading and unloading of items, utilising proper lifting, and handling techniques to prevent damage.
  • Carry out routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks, reporting any issues promptly to ensure the vehicle is in optimal working conditions.
  • Engage courteously with customers, ensuring service expectations and timetables are met.
  • Uphold a professional appearance and demeanour, representing the company positively to customers and the public at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics and ensure smooth operations during deliveries.

Essential Skills:

  • Hold a current UK driving license, Class 2 or Class 1, Cat B as a minimum. Cat C or C+E or the willingness to achieve.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrate an excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player and the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Problem solver and an ability to see where processes can be improved.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to plan workload and be reactive when required.
