Nursery Manager

We are a new nursery in the heart of Fulham, and we are excited in welcoming and building a professional and friendly team. Subject to OFSTED registration. We are looking to officially open in the first week of September 2024. We are looking to recruit and welcome a new Nursery Manager, supporting the children in providing the best possible start in life.

Hours: Full time (Monday to Friday)

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Competitive - to be negotiated.

To be eligible for this position, you would need the following:

  • Must be at least Level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification.
  • Excellent understanding of EYFS.
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Senior leadership experience within a nursery setting.
  • It is a legal requirement to hold a GCSE or equivalent qualification in Maths, or be willing to achieve within 2 years of starting the position.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage the nursery efficiently, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Establish a secure and engaging atmosphere for both children and staff members.
  • Work closely with parents and guardians to guarantee optimal care for the children.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and sensitivity towards special educational needs and promoting equal opportunities.
  • Hold certifications in paediatric first-aid and food hygiene or be willing to attend training.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in using computers for word processing, spreadsheets, and emails.
  • Have prior experience in conducting staff training sessions.

Main duties:

  • Perform comprehensive risk assessments of the nursery environment and ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of childcare within the setting.
  • Conduct regular staff supervisions and devise plans for staff growth and improvement.
  • Achieve high occupancy rates by actively marketing the setting locally.
  • Recruit and nurture exceptional talent among staff members.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities while promoting British Values and Behaviours.
  • Continuously enhance financial performance from year to year.
  • Hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of safeguarding and child protection policies within the nursery.
  • Develop an efficient parent engagement strategy to establish connections between home and the nursery.
  • Support parents during the registration process.
