We require a Football Unit Investigator / Banning Order Officer to cover an existing workload within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, based in Netley near Southampton (Hybrid working).
This is an interim position for an initial 6-9 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.
Job Purpose:
- This role is primarily about gathering and reviewing evidence in relation to Football related crime.
- The candidate will ideally have experience in the following: Witness statement taking – from victims and witnesses.
- Evidential review, for example CCTV / Statements taken by other officers.
- Interview training – they will be expected to conduct suspect interviews.
- Case file management – they will be building files for court prosecutions.
- Court experience – they will be expected to attend court and give evidence as OIC
- The ideal candidate will have good communication skills as they will need to be confident to deal with warranted Police Officers, Football Club Safety Officers, CPS and other agencies.
- They will understand how to manage a varied workload and prioritise actions as directed by their line manager.
Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role:
- PIP level 1 accredited or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience of complex information gathering and problem solving.
- A detailed understanding of the criminal justice system.
- Good communication skills with the ability to listen, empathise, provide support and adapt language, form, and message to meet the needs of different people and/or audiences.
- Skilled in the use of use IT packages, systems and/or databases to fulfil role requirements.
- Able to break down a complex problem into component parts and determine appropriate action in investigations.
