We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our clients Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a set of allocated daily, weekly, and monthly finance processes, ensuring quality, timeliness, and productivity. This role also involves assisting in the preparation of Management Accounts to Trial Balance and associated reconciliations, while adhering to the company's regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Execute high-volume processing of customer transactions with exceptional accuracy and within tight deadlines.
  • Perform daily banking, direct debits, credit card allocations, redemptions, and other financial transactions.
  • Conduct daily and monthly bank and account reconciliations.
  • Manage purchase ledger activities, including invoice posting, supplier reconciliations, and payment runs.
  • Support month-end processes and meet all internal and external audit requirements.
  • Work within regulatory and legal requirements, performing key control functions.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, recommending changes to processes.
  • Liaise with various departments to maintain good working relationships and stay informed of business operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Accounts experience in preparation and reconciliation of management accounts - ideal
  • Proficiency in bank reconciliations and ad-hoc duties - ideal
  • Accuracy and strong numeracy skills.
  • Good working knowledge of computer and keyboard skills, including intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • AAT qualification or a recognised accounting qualification is preferred, or qualified by experience - essential
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-reliant, self-motivated, and a proactive team player.
  • Strong control and risk awareness with a commitment to service delivery.
