Head Office Accountant

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to provide comprehensive support to the Group Financial Controller. This role involves preparing reports, financial accounts, and statutory returns in line with established practices and reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified or qualified by experienced accountant with strong Excel skills and a hunger to learn.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Assist with month-end accounts preparation for Head Office, including journal entries.
- Perform reconciliation of key control accounts such as fixed assets, bank, debtors, and creditors.
- Produce monthly financial reports and manage the authorisation and code checking of Head Office invoices.
- Oversee the management of contracts and contribute to sustainability reporting.
- Handle external payments, internal transfers, and system uploads.
- Provide assistance with statutory accounts, corporation tax, and audit compliance.
- Support annual planning processes, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Offer support during the year-end close process and respond to general head office enquiries.
- Undertake ad hoc reporting and tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or Qualified by Experience.
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems (experience with Kerridge, Hyperion, Tagetik or similar is beneficial).
- Strong numeracy and data management skills.
- A team player who is eager to learn and develop.
- Confident communicator with a professional email and telephone manner.
- Full UK driving licence.
