Finance Manager

My client looking for a Finance Manager who ideally has prior experience. The successful candidate must be confident on ERP systems and all Microsoft applications and have the ability to prioritise workload efficiently and to take the lead on updating and implementing new processes/financial models. Confidentiality is essential for this role.

You will demonstrate high attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.

As a small business, the role requires flexibility and is ideal for someone who is comfortable with varying tasks. The successful candidate will have patience and confidence when dealing with queries to maintain relations.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsibility for the production and delivery of the accounts and reports of the group companies in an accurate and timely manner as well as presenting these to the Board along with commentary and analysis.
  • Leading the finance team to deliver on time, accurate figure as well as supporting their personal learning and development.
  • Responsibility for the monitoring of the Group Cash position, reviewing plans and budgets to identify areas for improvement.
  • Preparation and monitoring of budgets / forecasts / reforecasting to assist the Board with decision making.
  • Active member of the Senior Management Team supporting peers and colleagues through business partnering.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all HMRC reporting, and payments are submitted and made for the group companies.
  • Overseeing the on-going credit control for the group companies.
  • Identify and implement changes and process improvements to maximise efficiency and productivity.
  • Responsibility for the coordination and liaison with auditors and other external stakeholders.
  • Maintain CPD requirements (where applicable) and attend training as required to maintain industry knowledge

Any other duties required to support the smooth running of the business.

When will I work?

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Your working week will normally be 8.30am to 4.30pm or 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with 30 minute unpaid lunch each day. However, on occasion these hours may vary depending on the needs of the business. For the first few months you will be based 5 days a week in the offcie but once settled in the role you will be able to work hybrid to what suits you.

What skills and experience is needed?

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Experience working within a growing SME
  • Confident with ERP systems
  • Understanding of change management
  • Good knowledge of accounts software and cloud-based solutions
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Commercial awareness and business partnering mindset
  • Be ble to manage a team of 2
